Women's Mountain Bike Pants review Part 2

We (Mia, Candice, Beka and Alexis, we range in sizes from 0-16) came together to discuss all of the MTB pants and shorts they have worn over the years. We wanted to compile a list of what we’ve tested, what works, fits well, and doesn’t. On the video below, we discuss everything from: Shredly, Wild Rye, PNW, Fox, Dharco, Revel Rider, Specialized, Pearl Zumi, Hand Up, Rapha, Lynt, Moxie, Club Ride, Ripton, and more! Rider Measurements: Mia, 5’4, Size 14,16/XL. Candice, 5’0, Size 0/XS. Beka, 5’7, Size 10-12/M-L. Alexis, 5’7, Size 12/M-L. 

   Mia’s Pants/Shorts: 

  • Fox: Flexair Lunar Pants Pink, XL,  $150-$180- On sale now for $65.  No zipper, just clip closure. Comfortable, but tight, and stretchy. Hard to get over the hips. Sits low on waist, fits knee pads comfortably. Slim ankle.
  • Lynt, shorts, L & XL $60. Comfortable, great colours, pockets, and can make custom fit. 
  • PNW, shuttle shorts, XL, $60 (one of the most comfortable shorts around). Long on knee, comfortable, breathable, and great pockets. Snap waist, and fits well on hips. 
  • Revel Rider, shorts L and XL, one fits another doesn’t.  $60.very comfortable breathable, with great pockets, and comfy snap button at the waist. Velcro adjustment in the back. 
  • Shredly, shorts, pants and chamois 12, 14, 16, $90-130. Check out our full Shredly review here!

  • Moxie, shorts L, $65. Comfy, but not a lot of big pockets, loud, bright colours. 
  • Ripton sweats  L, $20. Comfy, but sits low on waist.

  Candice’s Pants/ShortsCandice, 5’0, Size 0/XS.

  • Dharco: Gravity pants in leopard print , XS, $152.The team agrees these pants are fun in design and color, but run small on the fit (recommending sizing up) and is not at all curvy friendly. Thick denim like fabric, perfect for winter riding no stretch in this fabric with snap closure and velcro at the waist. Fits chamois and knee pads underneath. Great for the shorties. 
  • Specialized: Trail pants, Size 24, $135. Breathable fabric and High waisted. The team agrees the plastic closure clip on the waistband is not great. Lots of pockets. Height is great, even for the shorties. Slim at the ankle. 
  • Club Ride: Eden Shorts 7”, XS, $99.95
  • Shredly: Limitless 7” Stretch waistband High Rise short, Size 0, $98
  • Rapha: Trail Liner, XS, $125.00 
  • Rapha: Cargo shorts, XS, $90
  • Ripton: Shorts, Size XS, $69. Shorts are flattering and have a cute fit, but would not recommend riding in hot or humid weather
    prefers wearing them just as a normal short

 Beka’s Pant/Shorts: Beka, 5’7, Size 10-12/M-L

  • Shredly: Limitless pants, Size 12, $138. Beka’s favourite, most comfortable pants! Check out the full review here!
  • Fox: Air Flex, Size Large, $98. No zipper, just clip closure. mid rise, breathable fabric, and vent holes on inside of the thigh
    Minimal pockets very fitted (tight), but with stretch.  
  • Fox: Defend, Size Large, $84.Ratchet buckle, no zipper fly. Lower rise below natural waist. Frequent lower back exposure. Durable material with reinforced knees, zero stretch. Fits like mens pants. Two hand pockets, not as roomy. Tapered legs.
  • Troy Lee Designs: Women’s Lilium pants, Size L, $130. Sits mid/higher rise near natural waist. Adjustable velcro tabs on waist. No lower back exposure. Very flexible. Button snap closure and zipper. Roomy zipper pockets (2 hip, one thigh). Ventilation on inner thighs and knees. Tapered legs. Water/dirt resistant fabric, but hot.
  • Troy Lee Designs Women’s Mischief shorts, Size Large, $120.Mid rise, roomy relaxed cut. Snap button waist/zipper fly. Adjustable velcro tabs on waist. 3 roomy zipper pockets. Stretch fabric. Durable but lightweight fabric. No gap on thighs between knee pads and hem. 
  • Dharco: Gravity pants Pink , Size Large, $152. The team agrees these pants are fun in design and color, but run small on the fit (recommending sizing up) and is not at all curvy friendly. Thick denim like fabric, perfect for winter riding no stretch in this fabric with snap closure and velcro at the waist. Fits chamois and knee pads underneath. Great for the shorties.

  • Ripton: Black Bike Pants, Size Large, $120.Wears the pants to ride in. Very tight on the waist. Great for the winter…heavy fabric
    Not recommended for rainy wet rides …wet denim no bueno. Comfortably wears a knee pad underneath.  
  • Ripton: Denim Bike Pants, Size Large, $120- Same as above
  • Ripton: Women’s Diesel Overalls, Size Large, $149- Same as above
  • Revel Rider: Flow 2.0 Pants, Size Large, $75

  Alexis Pants/Shorts: Alexis, 5’7, Size 12/M-L. 

  • Pearl iZumi: Women’s Canyon Shorts, Size 12-$95.loves the length Elastic waistband for comfortable riding Chamois comes attached to the short.  
  • Handup Gloves: AT Pants, Men’s Size-Large, $59
  • Handup Gloves: Jorts, Size-Men’s Large, $54
  • Specialized: Trail Pants, Size 34″, $135. Breathable fabric and High waisted. The team agrees the plastic closure clip on the waistband is not great. Lots of pockets. Height is great, even for the shorties. Slim at the ankle.
