Candice's Juliana Furtado
Words by Candice Hansen:
I had been searching for the perfect (or close to) trail bike. Down in NWA (North West Arkansas), the riding can be pedal heavy with tons of rocks and roots along the way, so I wanted a bike that could climb easily while handling the rocky features. I had the opportunity to demo the Furtado a couple times and felt it handled all the chunky terrain amazingly.
Since I am a shorter rider (5′,0″), it’s hard to find a bike that fits me with a 29″ tire, but with the mixed wheel set on the Furtado, it gave me the option to increase my tire size without sacrificing standover height on the frame. The Furtado gave me the experience of the rolling efficiency on a bigger tire, making a noticeable difference with the rocks, roots and on the climbs. The Juliana has been a dream to ride and I’m so thrilled to have finally found the perfect trail bike for me.
Huge shout out to the Juliana and Santa Cruz team for helping me get this beautiful bike!
