Raw Style Apparel MTB Jerseys Review of Men’s & Women’s Fit

Words by Mia de Paula:

I’ve been riding in both the men’s and women’s merino MTB jerseys from Raw Style Apparel, and here’s the short version: they’re impressively comfortable, surprisingly versatile, and backed by a mission I can get behind.

Women’s Merino MTB Jersey

The women’s jersey has a beautiful cut — relaxed but flattering, soft but durable. I wore the Spruce/Limoncello colorway and had several people ask where it was from. It looks just as good off the trail as it does on it. The fit was true to size, but as a Large, it still fit well-I’m typically a size 12-14 US. One of the standout features for me was the sleeve length — it hit just right, offering a bit of extra coverage without feeling bulky or restrictive.

That said, I personally gravitated more toward the men’s version simply because I liked the looser, longer silhouette better. But performance-wise, the women’s jersey absolutely holds its own — breathable, odor-resistant, and comfortable for all-day riding in changing conditions. The women’s version, held its shape and size after washing, which is always a relief with merino-based apparel.

Lastly- I wish the women’s jerseys was available in the mens colours.

Men’s Merino MTB

Right away, I was impressed by how flowy and comfortable the fit was. The fabric has a relaxed drape that moves with you, not against you — no clinging, no bunching, just easy, breathable comfort on the bike. I actually found myself preferring the men’s fit over the women’s jersey, mainly because of the added length, which gave me more coverage whether I was climbing, descending, or layering for cold weather. I wore a Large size in the mens, and felt very comfortable with it. After one was though, it shrunk slightly, but still fit comfortably.

I tested these jerseys in both warm and cool conditions, and they handled everything I threw at them, including sweat… The merino/nylon blend wicked sweat effectively, kept me from overheating on warm days, and insulated just enough when temps dropped. Plus, Raw Style also sell multple packs of 2-3 Jerseys. Having a two-pack is super convenient — less laundry, more trail time.
